Animal Families

Even though Goldfish is a goldfish and Poodle is a poodle, they feel like they are sisters.

Sometimes animals from different species join together to make families in the real world, too.  Usually one animal acts like a mom or dad to another young animal from a different species.

For instance, an old tortoise named Mzee adopted an orphaned baby hippopotamus named Owen in 2004.  You can see some cute family photos here.
