Five Fine Fairy Tales

Have you ever noticed that a lot of fairy tales don't have any fairies at all? This is the Masked Pixie's list of 5 fairy tales that actually feature fairies. (Click on the title to read the whole story.)

1. Cinderella

Cinderella's godmother is one powerful fairy. With a wave of her wand she can turn a pumpkin to a carriage, mice into horses, and rags into a beautiful ball gown. However, she does have odd taste in footwear.

2. The Fairies (Diamonds and Toads)

The fairy in this story gives fabulous rewards to people who are kind and generous, but if you are rude and selfish, you better watch out!

3. Sleeping Beauty

When the king and queen forget to invite a fairy to their daughter's party, the fairy curses the poor little princess! This tale teaches us that some fairies are not very nice and that we should always double-check the guest list when we throw a party.

4. My Own Self

A boy meets a little fairy girl who drops down the chimney like Santa Claus.  This young fairy uses her magic to breathe life into animals made out of ash.  (Remember kids, playing near fireplaces with magical beings can be hazardous and is not recommended by the Masked Pixie.)

5. The Twelve Wild Geese

A queen wishes to have a baby girl and says she would give up her 12 sons to have one daughter.  A fairy hears her wish and grants it. The queen has a baby girl, but her sons are turned into geese! Be careful what you wish for. You don't know who might be listening.
